“It’s such a happiness when good people get together” – Jane Austen’s Emma
On the 13th of May, Mother’s Day, we invite you to escape with us into the world of Jane Austen. Romance, Regency costumes and, of course, tea. One must not forget the tea. Your journey begins with a stunning photo opportunity and short travel with Carriage of Occasion in the romantic setting of the Ayers House Gardens.
We return this year to the stunning conservatory at Ayers House, where you will meet some of your favourite characters from Jane’s novels. Interact with them and see how they respond and keep an eye on how they advance through their stories! Whilst your ears rejoice in the sounds of music your taste buds will enjoy an Ayers House Afternoon Tea. After the first concert, you may wish to wander the gardens with a friend and catch up on local gossip, become well versed (or at least learn some basics) in French, draw the picturesque…a most lady-like activity, master the art of needlework and lace making, try your hand at a game of Jane Austen’s Sweethearts card game (created right here in South Australia), become silhouetted and play a game of rhymes with rose.
“To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love” – Pride & Prejudice
If you have always wanted to attend a court dance then you need to wait no longer. Local choreographer, Vanessa Redmond, will teach you some court dance steps which you will be able to practice to live music! A final concert and readings will lead the afternoon to a handsome end.
Indulge yourself by investing $84 on this immersive experience because remember “Selfishness must always be forgiven you know because there is no hope of a cure.” – Mansfield Park
Please note this is a three-hour event beginning promptly at 12pm.Tickets Here
