On March 8, International Women’s Day, Virago Symphonic Orchestra will premiere a new creation. Together with various dance collectives in and around Antwerp, they will perform pieces by female composers from all over the world – including orchestrations by Emma Knights of Lili Boulanger’s Trios Morceaux pour Piano.

On March 8, the world celebrates International Women’s Day. What better way to put women in the spotlight than with the all-female Virago Symphonic Orchestra led by Pascale Van Os. We celebrate women in all their facets, through the years, and from different cultures. To make this day a big party, the orchestra invites various dance groups that tell the story of women in motion. They bring this to the repertoire of female composers from all over the world. Swirling dances, beautiful music, a feast for the eyes and ears.
