About Emma Knights Productions
Emma’s production company, Emma Knights Productions was founded in 2013 with the goal to create paid opportunities for South Australian talents and to inspire locals to support and explore our own backyard.
The company produces a range of music-based events across the year including Floating Melodies (2016 SA Tourism Awards Silver Award Recipient, 2014 and 2015 Tourism Awards Bronze Award Recipient, SconeFest!, Immersive Pirates of Penzance (sold out in Adelaide Fringe Festival every year), Aqua Beats, Oklahoma! on a farm, Chicago in the Woodville Town Hall Speakeasy (Winner Best Male ATG Awards), and more!
Emma Knights Productions is Tourism Accredited and was a 2018 Tourism Award Finalist, Emma was a 2019 InDaily 40 Under 40 Award winner and was also a panelist for the 2022 Tourism Industry Council’s The Art of To urism as well as being the entertainment producer for the event.

Turning The Page, 10 Years On
2023

This year featured my new show, Turning The Page, which sold out three shows during the 2023 Adelaide Fringe. The 10th-anniversary performances of Pirates Of Penzance were a great success across four venues and went onto our 70th performance in Victor Harbour in May. Another two new shows were launched, Garden Melodies, staged at Adelaide Botanic Garden and Planet’s Heaven at The Warehouse Theatre.

Created new cabarets and concerts: Knights in Shining Armour, Folding Minchin, The Men I Love and Moonlit Knights. Toured to Mount Gambier Fringe, Maitland and Gawler.

2021

Created my first all-original music cabaret called Myths, Legends & Fantasy which sold out at the Adelaide Fringe, Gumeracha Medieval Festival and Fresh from the Fringe in Maitland, SA. Toured regional South Australia. Created Candlelit Knights which sold out in the Nature Festival and created A Brunch of Songs.

Toured in Perth FringeWorld, performed an original secret show and opened, as well as produced, the Adelaide leg of Lenka’s Recover and Discover Tour. Online shows of Space Encounters, Swan Lake REMiXED, and 65 Roses Day Online Concert. Live and at-home version of Sconefest! Created shows Lady Fingers and An Afternoon of Christmas.

2019

Productions of The Sound of Music, and Sex & The Musical. Curating music for South Australian Tourism Awards and SA Dairy Awards. Tours to Melbourne Cabaret Fringe and Melbourne Fringe. Floating Melodies in a hot air balloon and the debut of “Burlesque on a Boat” (Created by Intern Monique Kernich). Created Chocolate for Piano Lovers. The Piano Men had its Australian Premiere @ Ukaria Cultural Centre and my second show The Piano Women had its Edinburgh Fringe World Premiere @ #pianodrome.

This year, Chris Daniels Productions and I took over the Adelaide Oval to curate and produce LIVE on 5 for Adelaide Fringe. This included new shows/productions: 35mm: A Musical Exhibition, Laconic: A Short Film Festival, and Half of Two. I took over Woodville Town Hall for my production of Chicago and lastly, along with Samara Gill, I created Swan Lake REMiXED.

My company’s first large-scale musical production, Oklahoma! was performed in January 2015 at Four Oaks Farm in the Adelaide Hills. The cast included two beautiful horses, ponies, ducks, geese and a peacock! I also ran Aqua Beats, as part of Splash Adelaide, a free music concert in Victoria Square and created
We’re Going Back
2015

How could I not hold a Back to the Future event on the 21st of October at 7.28 pm?! I created two new cabaret shows for the Come Together Band: Summer of Love and More Than a Woman and held a Good Ol’ Fashioned Barn Dance. Floating Melodies hosted Keith Conlon’s Stories & Songs (now called Horrible History of Adelaide).
Pirates, adventures and getting lost!
2014

We performed a sold-out extended season of Pirates of Penzance in Adelaide Fringe on the River Torrens/Karrawirraparri cruiser, The Popeye, directed by Andrew Turner. I also created a classical music scavenger hunt called Haydn Seek, an original music concert in the Mintaro Maze called Lose Yourself, and an improvised children’s adventure show called Tales of Adventure. The Come Together Band was formed for the Best of British Pop of the 50s & 60s. I joined forces with Karen Lettice Productions for a production of the Christmas opera, Amahl & The Night Visitors.

To raise funds for a production of the children’s opera, Space Encounters, I created the uniquely South Australian music-concert series, Floating Melodies. The first cruise was held on the 19th of June, 2013. We also ran a one-off event called A Princess Journey!
